The Berry Patch

Lee Berry started The Berry Patch with his wife Amy in 1995. It began as a small strawberry farm and has now grown into a 450 acre farm that produces a large variety of fruits and vegetables that are sold at their produce market, aptly named World’s Largest Strawberry in reference to the 25 foot tall and 86 ft around structure of a strawberry that attracts all groups of people to stop by from the interstate. It is right off of old HWY 220 in Ellerbe, NC and was molded into a strawberry shape from sheet rock and foam. They sell all varieties of homemade ice cream from fresh strawberry and peach to coffee, cherry vanilla, and chocolate toasted almond! This is a popular rest stop on the drive home from the beach to take a restroom break, enjoy some ice cream, and shop for local produce. SAIC purchases produce from The Berry Patch and Lee Berry serves on the SAIC Governing Board.
