The SAIC construction is underway! Local contractor Hawks Builders was the winning bidder for the renovation of a former produce packing shed for DeWitt Trucking Company to the new Sandhills AGInnovation Center.

The SAIC is a food hub facility built by Richmond County Government with a grant from the Golden LEAF Foundation. Services will be available to help produce growers connect with new markets through coolers, processing, transportation and more. New growers will be able to rent equipment from the SAIC making it possible to get started farming produce with limited capital investment.
