About
Background and Services
The Sandhills AGInnovation Center is a project in the south central Sandhills Region of North Carolina that supports farmers and expands the local farm economy. SAIC offers famers and food businesses training; shared-used farm equipment; processing, aggregation, and storage facilities; and connections to new markets.
The Sandhills farm economy is still transitioning away from tobacco, looking to other agricultural enterprises and and new market access to strengthen profits and economic growth. Agricultural markets change rapidly, with new opportunities emerging daily. SAIC will provide the training, spaces, equipment, and services necessary for farmers and local entrepreneurs to capitalize on new opportunities.
