New Ground Farms is owned and operated by Connie and Millard Locklear in Pembroke, North Carolina. Both Connie and Millard were born and raised on farms, in fact, Millard was raised on the same land that he currently farms. They are proud to continue what their ancestors did by feeding their community and educating others on where food comes from. Their crops are solely heirloom or hybrids, none are GMO. They grow many kinds of fresh produce from leafy greens and okras, to varieties of peas and squash. They sell their produce to the University of North Carolina at Pembroke as well as through wholesale markets and farmers markets.

The SAIC has been one of their main outlets for selling their vegetables and has helped New Ground Farms tremendously by purchasing their produce for the box programs SAIC runs.

Connie and Millard are located in Pembroke, NC at 292 Alvin Road, Pembroke, NC 28372. You can also meet them and buy their products on Saturday mornings from 7am-10am at the Robeson County Farmers Market in downtown Lumberton, NC. For more information, call 910-521-1768.
